This bowl is turned from a piece of rosewood that grew in Royal Palm Beach, Fla. It’s highly figured “crotchwood” that graphically reveals the stresses in the wood fibers — they have an appearance like wrinkled skin, but the chatoyant surface is smooth. The outside of this 1/4” thick bowl has a carved pattern highlighted by dry-brushed acrylics. It’s fully food-safe but intended primarily for display. It comes with a small turned base to display it at various angles.
